O primeiro álbum da banda, Definitely Maybe (1994) fora o álbum de estréia mais rapidamente vendido da história (recorde batido recentemente pelos Arctic Monkeys), e o álbum seguinte, (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (1995) definiu o movimento "Britpop". A maioria das canções dos Oasis foi escrita por Noel Gallagher, embora nos últimos álbuns o seu irmão, e vocalista, Liam tenha contribuído, como em "Little James" (2000) e "Songbird" (2002). Os Oasis ja venderam mais de 45 milhões de cds em todo o mundo. A banda ainda hoje faz enorme sucesso pelo mundo, esgotando concertos em todos os lugares por onde passa.
